Doing research without having it published in a scientific journal is like to a bicycle that has lost the wheels. It can only be seen, but the community cannot feel the worth of the benefits and cannot deliver to the destination. The Bachelor of Education for Islamic Elementary School Teachers Program recognizes the benefit of having research articles published in national and international publications. As a result, the Bachelor of Education for Islamic Elementary School Teachers Programme at the State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta pioneered this workshop by inviting all lecturers from the State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta's Faculty of Tarbiyah and Education.

On July 18, 2022, an international journal writing workshop was organized at the New Saphir Hotel Yogyakarta. The lecturers of the Bachelor of Education for Islamic Elementary School Teachers Programme at the State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta are the target audience for this activity. Another agenda item for this workshop is to go through the guidebook for writing the thesis for the Bachelor of Education for Islamic Elementary School Teachers Programme, as well as to study along with design research by inviting resource persons. The review of the guidebook for writing the thesis was accompanied by resource individuals who reviewed research methodologies appropriate for the Bachelor of Education for Islamic Elementary School Teachers Program.

Mr. Dr. Rully Charitas Indra Prahmana, M. Pd. is the workshop's resource person. He studies design research methodologies as a lecturer at Ahmad Dahlan University Yogyakarta. Design Research is one of his works (Theory and Implementation: An Introduction). Before the main event did begin, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Education and Head of the Bachelor of Education for Islamic Elementary School Teachers Program opened the workshop.

From this, it can be seen that the research method is very broad. It is not only pegged to qualitative, quantitative, and Research and development (R&D) research methods. There are many other research methods such as this design research. Mr. Rully said that design research is not a research design, but design research is a design research method. With the presence of various core activities at this workshop, it can add insight to the lecturers and can introduce them to students.
