Bachelor of Education for Islamic Elementary School Teachers Program is part of Designing an Excellent and Leading Faculty

Education for Islamic Elementary School Teacher Program State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta attended a work meeting on Thursday and Friday, March 18 and 19, 2021, in the 1st-floor meeting room of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Education. This agenda was officially opened by the Dean of faculty, Dr Sri Sumarni, M.Pd. Two speakers were invited to give information on the creation of Faculties and Study Programs Drs Jarot Wahyudi S.H M.A dan Dr Bambang Retnoaji, S.Si., M.Sc, which was followed interactively via discussion.
The theme of the 2021 Raker was "Designing Excellent and Leading Faculties," which was attended by all elements of the Dean beginning with the Dean, Deputy Dean 1, Prof H Abdul Munip, M.Ag., Deputy Dean for Division 2: Dr Zaenal Arifin Ahmad, M.Ag., Deputy Dean for Division 3, Dr Imam Machali, m M.Pd., then Head of Division, Head of Sub-section 1, Head of Sub-Division 2, and Head of Sub-Division 3 as well as all 16 Heads of Study Programs and Secretaries of Study Programs, starting at the Bachelor to Doctor. The 2021 Faculty Working Meeting was attended by representatives of the Senate, the Head of the Center for Character Education Studies, the Head of the Education Laboratory and the Head of the International Office.
Following the work programs from fields 1 and 2, the event continued with each Study Program explaining the strategic program goals for 2021 and the study program development plan for 2022. Dr Maemonah, M.Ag, Head of the PGMI Study Program dan the program's secretary, Fitri Yuliawati, M.Pd.Si., was joined by explaining that the PGMI Strategic Plan 2021-2024 was separated into four main points: excellent students, professional lecturers of quality production management, and internationalization. According to the explanation of the Head of Study Program, six steps are: taken to achieve outstanding students; including eliminating dropout students; improving the quality of students less than four years old; increasing academic and non-academic achievements; fourthly increasing research involving students and lecturers; and finally increasing community service that involves students and makes student associations active and productive.
Mrs Mae explained that the activities undertaken for professional lecturers include: lecturer recognition, improving lecturers' academic positions, improving the quality of lecturers' EWMP, increasing lecturers' and students' publications and then writing in mass media, number of lecturer citations, and lecturers' intellectual property rights in collaboration with students. Quality production management, including through AMI and AME activities, was also presented to PGMI at the Faculty Working Meeting, following accreditation from BAN-PT for nine standards, Al Bidayah journal program towards Sinta 1, and preparation of Study Programs following FIBAA international accreditation.
The head of the study program also explained that internationalization activities include four components:
- International seminars with proceedings.
- Visiting lecturers to universities abroad.
- Increasing cooperation at national and international local levels by clarifying cooperation agreements.
- Inviting international students for internships at the PGMI Study Program.
The agenda of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Education Working Meetings worked smoothly for two days. They served as the assessment material for suggestions for all Study Programs to further improve the quality of academic facilities and infrastructure for credible and accountable human resources and graduates.
