"Examining the Issues of Concentration Difficulty in Learning and Counting Elementary School Students"

On Tuesday, May 10, 2022, the Bachelor of Education for Islamic Elementary School Teachers Program presented another Education Workshop. The topic of this workshop was "Examining the Issues of Concentration Difficulty in Learning and Counting Elementary School Students," and two resource persons, Mrs Rosa Virginia Kartikarini, M.Psi., (Educational Psychologist) and Mrs Herlina Nursiamti, S.Pd. SD was present (Teacher Trainer for Learning Difficulties). This activity aims to identify problems with learning concentration and numeracy in primary kids, as well as answers or problem solving based on the topic.
The workshop started at 09.00 with an opening by the MC. It continued with speeches from the head of the Bachelor of Education for Islamic Elementary School Teachers Program (Mrs Maemunah), the Lecturer in charge of Student Development Courses (Ms Fitri Yuliawati, M.Pd. Si), and the committee chairman. The workshop proceeded under the control of the Moderator (Husain Al-Qadri), with the resource people presenting workshop material. According to the resource individuals there, students' challenges were highly complicated, particularly at the Elementary School level. Learners from 6 to 12 years may have a variety of learning difficulties. Some people struggle with reading, writing, focus, mathematics, and other skills. However, as facilitators of learning, we must first grasp students' skills, lest an educator label (judgment) children who have issues with only one learning phenomenon. Many strategies are available or may be used by educators when dealing with children who struggle to concentrate on learning and counting. The first step is understanding the variables that cause these children to struggle, including external and internal factors.
Teachers must collect information about their students, give the most significant learning possible using various learning models and methods, and use learning missions corresponding to real-world modalities. That is the conclusion that can be taken from two resource experts' exposure, both during the delivery of the information and during conversations, questions, and answers. The program ended with documentation and a closing prayer, as directed by the MC. It is intended that this educational workshop will not just end with the event but that the knowledge and experience gained will be implemented and developed by those of us who will become teachers and deal with children with various learning capacities. Cheers!
