Yogyakarta (05/03/2022) – On Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 09.00-11.00 WIB, HMPS of the Bachelor of Education for Islamic Elementary School Teachers Program held a workshop online using the zoom platform and video streaming on the Bachelor of Education for Islamic Elementary School Teachers Program youtube channel. HMPS and alumni worked together to create this workshop. The workshop's theme is "Merdeka Curriculum."
The Master of Ceremony, Hany Ahyun Usadani, started the Independent Curriculum workshop, which Moderator Intan Nur Ngazizah led. Mr Joko Kiswanto, S.Pd.I., Gr., M.Pd invited to speak at this workshop. On this occasion, he explained the learning issue as the basis for convening the Merdeka Curriculum. Learning crises in Indonesia have happened due to a pandemic that causes learning loss and the introduction of a less relevant emergency curriculum. As a result, the government promotes the Independent Curriculum as a solution to the learning crisis.
The Merdeka Curriculum is expected to be a curriculum that grows with the times. By focusing on teacher-led intracurricular activities. Teachers have a significant impact in deciding on learning. Learning may be adapted to the specific needs of the students, providing that the subject being taught is effectively communicated. Furthermore, he said that by implementing the Independent Curriculum, students' learning achievement might be improved. Mr Joko Kiswanto had a message before leaving the zoom room: "information is not just received from instruction in the classroom; the key to gaining it is how we desire to seek and receive."
